A community of filmmakers, storytellers, and cinema lovers creating, screening, and celebrating the art of film right here in Manatee County.
Our Mission
Manatee County Film Club brings together aspiring and experienced filmmakers to learn, collaborate, and share their work. Whether you've never touched a camera or you're a seasoned director, there's a place for you here.
We host regular screenings, hands-on workshops, and production projects — giving our community real tools and real experience to tell their stories on screen.
Membership is open to everyone in Manatee County. No experience required — just a passion for film.
About
"We started with a camera, a story, and a group of people who believed Manatee County deserved its own cinematic voice."
The Manatee County Film Club was founded with a simple belief: great filmmaking shouldn't be limited to Hollywood. Our county is full of extraordinary people, places, and stories — and we exist to capture them.
We're a volunteer-driven, community-supported organization offering free and low-cost programs for anyone who wants to explore filmmaking. From introductory workshops to full production projects, we meet people where they are and help them grow.
Our screenings bring the community together to watch, discuss, and celebrate films — both locally made and from around the world. We believe cinema creates empathy, sparks conversation, and builds a stronger, more connected community.
What we stand for
Film belongs to everyone. We remove financial and technical barriers so that any person in our county can participate, learn, and create using industry standard materials, technology, and equipment.
Our best work happens when we collaborate. We foster an environment where every voice is heard and every perspective is valued.
We take the art of filmmaking seriously. Through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on production, we help our members grow into skilled storytellers.
